    Dick's Sporting Goods
    Software Engineer II

Sifting stored procedures, overhauling CI/CD pipelines, designing systems, and building microservices.

Our general stack includes Kotlin, Azure, Spring, Postgres, ELK, React (KASPER?), and a handful of others here and there. Most of the time, I’m alternating between product design and development. I’ve also had the pleasure of working closely with early-career engineers/designers, helping them navigate the day-to-day and transition to full-time work.

    RBC Wealth Management
    Software Engineer

Contractor hired full-time. Overhauled JSPs in WebSphere, developed greenfield microservices (Java, Spring, MSSQL), and established core libraries.

I was new to enterprise software development, and spent most of my time working in a brand new architecture. Needless to say, I learned quite a bit in a short period of time. I had great coworkers, mentors, and managers to thank for my success here, and together we delivered modernized products to help consumers navigate wealth management at RBC.

    MHC Software
    Software Support Specialist

Custom software triage and support, digitizing signatures, documenting processes.

Officially, this was my first venture into the tech industry. I attempted to get into a software development boot camp, back when the market wasn’t saturated. My failure to do so nudged me onto a different path—one I’m grateful for.

Despite my lack of experience, I was warmly welcomed by the MHC family, maybe ~80 employees. I can’t think of a better way to have switched careers. Every day brought something new, and with the support of my colleagues, I slowly pieced together the technical side of apps, servers, databases, and the like.

My time at MHC was cut short after I managed to land a position in the boot camp that initially led me on this path.
